Resources
We are structured to attract the most qualified technical people in our field and provide them with the tools to perform their duties in the most efficient manner possible. Our drafting and design group is proficient in and equipped with the latest technology and software available in our representative disciplines. Our software includes Bentley Microstation and Geopak, AutoCad and AutoDesk Land Desktop, ArcView and ArcGIS. Our design team utilizes the latest hardware with several large-format Hewlett Packard plotters, digitizers and large-format Xerox copying machines, DVD and CD writers to produce high quality, professional documents, maps and images, either on paper or using digital storage capabilities.
Each professional is equipped with a networked computer and uninterrupted access to the Internet, e-mail and FTP servers. The branch offices are linked together using virtual private networking over high-speed connections. This ensures safe, continuous connections between locations for constant communication.
We also have an extensive sampling, surveying, and engineering testing equipment inventory. This inventory includes the following: two Trimble RTK Global Positioning Systems; a Sokkia Locus GPS unit with centimeter accuracy and kinematic capabilities; two Topcon GTS-3 total stations; Laser Alignment LB-10 Laser Levels; Nikon Auto Levels; resource-grade Trimble GPS field unit with related software; three CPN nuclear density and moisture gauges; assorted geotechnical sampling equipment; portable specific conductivity (SC), REDOX, dissolved oxygen (DO), and water and soil pH meters; flow meters; water level indicators; soil samplers; bailers; and alkalinity kits.
We own and utilize the RD4000 pipe and cable locator, which is the latest model available from Radio Detection for Subsurface Utility Engineering work, which is a service area we have recently added to our capabilities. Unlike previous locators (Metrotech 810 and RD400) the RD4000 is capable of verifying the accuracy of its electronic depth measurements. This will not eliminate the need for test holes; however, the RD4000 has a preliminary accuracy of approximately 95%.
We also own a Spectrace 9000 X-ray Florescence meter. This instrument is capable of providing real time metals content of soils samples in the field.
Health and safety equipment includes first aid kits, full-face respirators, steel-toed boots, coveralls, hard hats, and disposable clothing. Other equipment includes programmable two-way radios, video cameras, 35mm cameras, digital cameras, compasses, and clinometers. We also own several vehicles to provide cost effective support for field investigations, including four 3/4-ton 4wd Suburbans, one 3/4-ton extended cab pickup, two 1/2-ton 4wd pickups, one 1-ton 4x4 flatbed pickup, and one 1-ton truck/camper converted into a field laboratory/office for extended field efforts.
