Soils and Materials Lab Services
The soils and materials laboratory of Pioneer Technical Services, Inc., located in Helena, Montana, is accredited with the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The laboratory conducts tests on soils and aggregates for design and for compliance purposes by either AASHTO or American Standards for Testing of Materials (ASTM) criteria. Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. has American Concrete Institute (ACI) certified personnel to collect and test fresh concrete. Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. also has certified nuclear gauge testing personnel and equipment qualified to evaluate moisture/density relationships for field compliance.
The geotechnical personnel and technicians of Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. deliver soil and aggregate samples to the Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. Laboratory and follow a chain-of-custody format. The tests are specified and an anticipated date of test completion is made. The samples are generally photographed during their testing stage and included in the materials report.
